Vocational Teacher in Transport Subject

As a transport teacher, you play an important role in education as well as in the future competency supply of the transport industry. Therefore, we are looking for someone who is or wants to take the step to become a transport teacher.

Brogymnasiet has about 70 employees and offers a wide range of programs such as EE, EK, FT, FS, IN, NA, SA, TA, TE, VO, IM, and Adapted Upper Secondary School. RESPONSIBILITIES

As a vocational teacher in the transport subject, you will plan and conduct both practical and theoretical teaching in both upper secondary and adult education. In the teaching situation, students will practice everything from driving and load securing to traffic safety, laws, and industry routines. Teaching takes place in classrooms, on driving ranges, and out on the roads.

Your role includes following and assessing students' development, grading, and creating a safe and clear learning environment that prepares them for working life. You will have close contact with the transport industry by coordinating and following up on students' workplace-based learning (APL) and collaborating with supervisors and companies. The work also involves keeping yourself updated on industry requirements, such as YKB and ADR, and collaborating with colleagues to provide students with the best possible conditions to achieve set goals. You are also expected to collaborate with other colleagues to develop education and ensure high quality.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• is already an educated and certified vocational teacher, or
• has several years of experience in the transport industry as a driver and is interested in training to become a vocational teacher
• has a CE driver's license
• has good experience in driving and reversing a truck with a trailer
• has a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing
• has good computer skills

Meritorious are:

• local industry knowledge for working with workplace-based learning (APL)
• authorization for ADR (dangerous goods)
• professional competence certificate (YKB)
• certificates for wheel loaders, cranes, and forklifts.

Personal Competencies:

We are looking for someone who is an initiator and self-driven person who enjoys taking responsibility and driving work forward. You are flexible and can easily adapt to changing situations in both teaching and everyday life. At the same time, you are a team player with good collaboration skills and a relationship-building approach, where you build trusting contacts with students, colleagues, and industry representatives. With good pedagogical insight, you can make complex tasks understandable for everyone and create a safe learning environment where the student's needs are always at the center. You are also structured and work methodically to ensure a quality-assured and well-planned teaching in the transport program.

OTHER

A teaching license is required for permanent employment, but during an interview, we can discuss how we can offer permanent employment in the long term through education. The position is a summer job.

If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland and are offered employment, you must be able to prove that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit.
